If you want to get the most out of them you can get a 48v 10a (instead of 5a) for each of them. I think the limitation is in the power supply capacitance. You will be driving them even hotter though.

If possible, I would like to see a comparison of sound quality using two Fosi Audio ZA3s in mono with balanced connections.

Its interesting.. a lot of folk appear to prefer the Quads and indeed they are very good but there’s so much more fine detail and nuance in the KEF’s. That and for me at least the Quads make her sound like she is suffering from a head cold.. nice though they are they wouldn’t be for me.. I will nail my colours to the mast though and declare I have got the metas currently but am considering moving to Neat Iota Alphas or Explorers.. I currently use the metas with a Rega Elicit R and my only complaint of the KEF’s are they are a hard load to drive and the Elicit is working hard if you want to go LOUD!

Thanks for this video but I fail to see how you've utilized the "shield" for its intended purpose. You've simply made a pair of two different gauge wires with no shield. If it were a proper shielded cable, there would be a twin core in the middle and metal wrap around them. The outer metal wrap would be connected to an earth (so that any noise induced into the cable is grounded). If you ran this cable next to any noisy power supplies you would have a noisy cable.

I really appreciate and respect your enthusiasm for audio, but no, I'll respectively and completely disagree with you. Voltage and current requirements of the typical household 2 speaker or any variant in-between that and a full blown 7.1 surround AV system is much less than what was made here. Plus, the contact surface of those bananna plugs you inserted into your speakers is not anywhere near the same as the ridiculous amount of copper you just placed in front of them, so there is your bottleneck of energy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! My Denon amp has had this problem for years. To the point it was unusable. It was a slightly different model so a bit different inside, but same input selector. I’ve just finished this clean up and it’s working perfectly. It is so great to have my old stereo back!

I once had the DO300, it sounded very clear and detailed, but resulted somewhat fatiguing for long listening session, so I returned it. Do you think this DO100 Pro has the same sound signature?

Where did you buy your transformer. I cannot see it on line. With PowerBright I can see only step down to 110 watts.

thanks for the review! IMO all the people asking to compare to full-size receivers are being obtuse if not outright idiots. This amp is about form factor and extensive functionality without compromising the audio quality too badly, all put together at a bargain price. If form factor and power usage is not an issue, STICK WITH YOUR EXISTING CLASS A/B amp, folks, and perhaps buy a streamer from Wiim for the connectivity and DAC functionality your power amp may not have.

There are interesting choices between the $1000 and $8/9K price points. I am seriously considering the Audio-GD R7-HE Mark III, to purchase next year. Herb gave the Mark II a VERY enthusiastic review last year and I have spoken with Walter at Underwood as I had various questions about support, service, etc. I was very much reassured and the ONLY drawback I see is that the FPGA updates require a Windows computer as the source.

I have different DACs, they all have a different sound signature, but The Modius E is in no way left behind, it doesn’t look Flashy and cheesy as those Bright sounding Chinese made Dacs. If you prefer that bright sounding Dac, get a Chinese Dac, if you like refined sound get a Schiit Audio or Cambridge Audio Dac!
